My Friend Cajun Craze

Happy Saturday morning everyone!

Today's post came from a hostess gift I gave my latest hostess. It is a simple card and it can be tweaked any way you want for any type of card. For the main image on this card, I used a clear block from the blocks you use fro you clear mount stamps. I inked up and placed it on the card stock. Then I took a stamp and stamped the image in the clear block image. Then I used my simply score board to "frame" my image. It is a very quick and easy card. I hope you like it!

Hand- Penned Holiday Present

Hi Stampers!

Today's post was a lot of fun...I saw this technique on someone's blog but I have not been able to remember who's it was. But I thank them for the idea. I took the new Silver Glimmer Paper, an aqua painter, and an ink refiller to change the color. You have to use your aqua painter to paint on the ink. I realized that you have to use the darker colors to be able to see a big change in the paper. I hope you like it!

Gently Falling with Hand-Penned Holidays

Morning Stampers!

Just as I thought I was going to get started blogging again, my youngest child came down with croup and my oldest child and I are catching it or something else. Having a house full of sick people is not fun! Can't wait until we all feel better again!

Today's post is a gift I gave my hostesses at my last workshop... I made 4 cards and a 3D item. You will see one card and the 3D item now and I will post the rest later. On both the card and Candle I stamped the leaves from the Gently Falling Stamp Set and then I used Crystal Effects on them. Then I cut them out and applied them to both the card and candle. On the candle I used the Spice Cake Designer Fabric to wrap it up with. I love the new Designer Fabrics for wrapping up gifts.

Halloween 20011

I'm Back.....

I hope you all are doing great! Life has kept me really busy for the summer at our ranch in northern New Mexico. I decided to share with you my family's Halloween 2011 pictures. Austin is Cad Bane (the one with the blue face) from Star Wars, and Mason, the Darth Maul (the one in red), came down with Croup Halloween morning and fought me on going trick or treating. So I told him that we could go for a little bit....Halloween only comes once a year! He was so warn out when we got home that he went straight to bed at 6:30. And he is still not feeling good!

I had a workshop over the weekend and this is the treat that I gave all the ladies that attended. Hope you like my version of the witches broom!

T and K's Wedding

Hello Stampers!!

I have to apologize to everyone because I haven't posted in a while. I've had a lot of things happen in my life lately. I've been up at the ranch and I have also attending a wedding for my cousin in Estes Park Colorado. So I've been on the go... I wanted to share with you a gift I gave my cousin. I hope this gift was well received because I think it turned out beautiful! I took the wedding invitation I received in the mail and turned it into a gift. I made the invitation look antiqued with distress and sponging. Then I made some beautiful paper flowers to accent it using the 5 Petal Punch and added some paper foliage to it. Placed it in a shadow box so they could hang it on the wall of their new home together.

Tim and Katelin, I just want to say congratulations on your new life together. The wedding was absolutely beautiful...you couldn't have pick a more beautiful place to be married!!! Thank you so much for inviting me and my family!!! You both were absolutely stunning, but sorry Tim, Katelin stole the show!!:) (As the bride usually does!)

Playing With Colors 54

Good morning Stampers!

Today's Playing With Colors are Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White. I decided to use the new stamp Sail Away. I love this stamp...it's a great masculine stamp! Like I've said in the past, I have a lot of men in my life and I am always looking for masculine stamps. I stamped the sail boat in Whisper White, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler, then I cut out the white sails and the red boat and added it to the stamped image on Crumb Cake. I think it added a great touch...What do you think?

Flower Garden On the Grow

Good morning Stampers!

Today's post is very similar to a card I did previously on May 16, 2011 called Imagine A Flower Garden. This is a very simple card with the exception of using the Brayer on the embossing folder. You have to be sure not to get ink on anything other than the protruding image on the embossing folder. Don't forget to use your embossing buddy before you run your paper through the Big Shot because it's hard to get all the embossing powder off of the paper if you don't. I hope you like it!!

Playing With Color 53

Good Evening Stampers!

Well, I'm a little late doing my Playing With Colors Challenge, Sorry!! But I went to Albuquerque (without my computer) with my boys and mother-in-law to go to the zoo and the Aquarium. They had a blast and so did I!! We stayed the night at a hotel and because we were so tired from our day we decided to eat there. Well, I ended up getting food poisoning...no fun. I am finally starting to feel better. Yeah!!!

The Open Sea Adventure

Good Morning Stampers,

Today's post has a few significances to it. First, this was my monthly swap and secondly, this is my DH's favorite to date.:) I have to say he is a hard one to impress but I finally did it!!! I love this stamp set for the men in my life...hubby, son's, dad's, nephew's, brother's, uncle's and granddad's. I had a lot of fun with this one, there are a lot of different textures to it. As you can see there is distressing, sponging, tearing, and the mother of pearl. When I did the mother of pearl I used the Champagne Shimmer Paint applied with scrunched up saran wrap. Then I sponged it with the Early Espresso. I hope you like it as much as my hubby does!

Beautiful Wings On The Grow

Good Morning Stampers!

Today's post I used a technique that I read about in the Stampin Success that I receive from Stampin' Up on a monthly basis. If you become a demonstrator, you too can receive these monthly publishings. What you are seeing here is Double Embossing. I took a brayer and my Very Vanilla Craft ink, applied the in to the smooth side embossing folder. Then I inserted the Basic Black paper in the folder and ran it through the Big Shot. After that I sprinkled the clear embossing powder on it and then I took the heat gun to it. But I had to do 2 times because the Very Vanilla didn't show up very well. I hope you like it!

Imagine a Flower Garden

Good morning all!

I hope ya'll had a great weekend! Me and the family went up to the mountains...and it was beautiful, still a little of snow but it was nice to get away from the every day thing! We have a ranch in northern New Mexico called The Brazos River Ranch. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Here are a couple of pictures of what you would see in the summer time. And one in the winter time. Enjoy!!! On to Stamping....

So today's post is using the new embossing folder and embossing powder. I used versamark on the embossing folder of the image that protrudes out. Then I ran it through the big shot, sprinkled the melon mambo embossing powder on the image, heated it and this is what I got. I hope you enjoy it!

Fabulous Florets Flower Garden

Happy Mother's Day Stampers!

It's a late post tonight because of Mother's Day Activities. I want to thank my family for a nice day together!! This card was made for my nephew's mom. My nephew said late last night that he didn't have a card for his mom...so I volunteered to make a card for her. And this is what I came up with. I hope you like it!

I don't know if you can see but I stamped the Fabulous Florets (the tall leaf bunch) in Pear Pizzazz on the First Edition DSP and distressed and sponged it with Pear Pizzazz ink. I used Champagne Shimmer Paint applied with a scrunched up piece of cellophane. Then I colored the centers of the embossed flowers from the Flower Garden EF in Basic Black, then I used the Moonlight Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink on the black centers of the flowers. I also sponged the Embossed Flowers so they showed up a little better. Oh and to match the shimmer look I spritz the rest of the card with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Playing With Color 51

Good morning Stampers!

Today's post is playing with colors...Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, and Marina Mist with a neutral. I really like these colors together, to me they are very bold but elegant.

The flower I used the 5 petal punch...I folded it in half and cut out the center of it. Then I spritzed it with water and crumbled it up but shaped it as a flower. Then I used the BoHo Flower Punch to hold it together on the end and spritzed it with Smooch Spritz (I really like that stuff...it adds a little bling to it.) For the little flag that you see attached to the Salutation, I spritzed it with water and folded it up to add a little texture to it. What do you think?

Dirt Bike Birthday

Good Morning Stampers!

Today's post is a very exciting card...I sent this to my cousin's son. Is that my second cousin or is it my 1st cousin once removed???? Anyway, I enjoyed making this card, it was a lot of fun. I embossed the dirt bike stamped image but brayered the background. Again, brayering is definitely a process that takes practice! I'm still figuring it out! Then I used the Big Shot with the lattice and polk-a-dot embossing folders. The gray/silver layer is an aluminum can and the black dots in the lower right hand corner are black dew drops. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it!

For some reason, when it rains it pours! Why is that? I found out that a friend of our family was very sick and in the hospital. Although they say he may be released from the hospital on Friday. This is the card I made for him. I thought it turned out pretty cool! I have to say it is not a very fast card to make...the stitching I had to do a couple of times to get it right. Sorrow with Thoughts and Prayers

Good afternoon Stampers!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Today's post is a sympathy card for my mom's best friend and next door neighbor. She lost her husband a week ago today.  My heart goes out to Alicia because she is a wonderful, fun loving, and caring person.  When I spoke to her the first thing she said was that she cried till she had no more tears. And now that some time has passed she knows he is in a much better place with no more suffering. Ed will be missed!

We went on with our conversation and we got to a part that made both of us laugh. Alicia LOVES animals...she would take them all in and give them all the love they need. She used to have 3 dogs and 2 cats, but now she has 6 cats. I told her that she is now going to be known as the wretched old cat lady to all the kids in the neighbor hood. Please let it be known I grew up in this neighborhood, the kids talk.

Alicia, I love you, I am sad for you! But I know you are a strong woman, you will be okay. Please let me know if there is ever any thing I can do for you.  You and my mom had some great times and great laughs together. I thank you for that...you were one of the best things my mom had. Thank you for being a part of our family!

As I promised on Wednesday, and forgot about Playing with colors Thursday...Here is the project that the daughters/girls did at my recent workshop. Now I want you all to know that I did not design this card. I saw this awesome card posted on splitcoaststampers.com by a member technique_freak. When I saw this card I had to make one of my own. As most of you have seen in my projects, I like to use the Beveled Window Panes to magnify a colored image from a black and white image. So when I saw this card I had to put my spin on it. And the above pictures show it. I hope you like it!

Playing With Color 50

Good Afternoon Stampers,

My posting is a little late then what I wanted to do...but here it is. I know I said yesterday that I would post they "girls" project today, but I forgot about Playing With Colors. Todays colors are Cajan Craze, Pink Pirouette and Crumb Cake, and my nutural color is Very Vanilla. When I was first asked to make a card using these colors, I thought they were crazy because I didn't think they went well together. But after working with them, they DO work well together.

Easter Blossoms Friendly Window Pane

Good Morning Stampers!

I'm getting nervous because my favorite stamp set is going away :( at the end of April. (Not like you couldn't tell it's my favorite, I only have like 10 cards with this stamp set.) This was from the mother/daughter party that I had last month...the mothers/ladies made this card. (I will post what the daughters/girls made tomorrow.) They loved it and enjoyed making it. Something else that I love about this card is how the beveled window pane can magnify the stamped image. Just adding a color to the image makes it even more elegant. I hope you enjoy it as much as they did.

Birthday In the Yukon

Hello Stampers!

Wow two posts in one day...that never happens. I've been wanting to post this card for a while now. This was for my DH's (Dedicated Husband) birthday back in January. Not only is it from January, but the stamp set is really old too. I decided to dig deep into my Stampin' Up Collection to see what I could put together with the Yukon Stamp Set...I couldn't even tell you when it came out. I wish Stampin' Up would come out with more Animals (like this stamp set) and Southwestern stamps. Being from New Mexico these types of stamp sets are an necessity!!! I have to say that this card was inspired by my mother-in-law. She had made a card using sticks surrounding the stamped image. Instead of sticks, I made the stamped image as if it were on canvas being hung on a rope on a wall. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Good morning stampers!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend...it's back to the grind for me. Today's post was my monthly swap with my upline and group. This month's challenge was to make a full 4X4 card. This is something I don't do, so I had to step outside of my box...This is what I came up with. (For some reason, my camera cannot pick up the Pear Pizzazz Color, but there is Pear Pizzazz in it, the card itself.) All the flowers are on Very Vanilla Card Stock and the 3D flower is spritzed with the Smooch Spritz Vanilla shimmer. I hope you like it!

Are you ready for Easter? I'm not and it's tomorrow so I have a lot to do today. But I wanted to post my Easter project before I got started. I made this as a hostess gift along with a hand full of cards. This was a lot of fun to make. I used the Big Shot with the Scallop Envelop Bigz Dies to create the box. And cut the handle to fit the box. I hope you like it!

Chic Treats

Hello Stampers!

Well, there's a little learning curve going on right now. I am now using a Mac laptop for my postings. I have had a Mac for a few years now and LOVE it, but I've been using a PC to post my blog. The PC was my work computer and now my DH has a new Mac, so now I get to the Mac Air. With all that said, I have no idea how to rotate my picture. Does anyone know how to do that?

Anyway, these little chic treats were made for my boys preschool class for Easter. I hope you like them!

TGIF!!! Well today's post is from the Hostess Stamp Set Fast and Fabulous...which I love but I haven't played with it yet. I also decided to try out my new Smooch Pearlized Top Coat, not too sure if you can see it but it adds a nice elegant touch. I painted it on the edges of the butterflies, in the middle of the flowers and around the edge of the label punch. I also love these colors together. I hope you like it as much as I do!!!

Playing With Color 47

Good Morning Stampers:

This mornings post is about playing with colors. I was asked to create a project using Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade and Basic Black colors. This is what I came up with. I used my black embossing powder for the Fifth Avenue Stamped Flower on Blushing Bride Paper. Then I used my blender pen and my Poppy Parade ink pad to create the color on the flower. The only down fall on this project was the Blushing Bride paper, it did not take to the water from the blender pen very well. But I did it any way...I think it turned out okay, what do you think?

Easter Blossoms Basket

Good morning stampers!

Hope ya'll had a great weekend!! I must say that I did. Me and the family went down to Albuquerque for a Stampin' Up party that I put on, hosted by my wonderful friend Mari Adkins. The theme was geared toward a mother/daughter party. I will be posting photos of the projects that we did later this week...so stay tuned! We had several people show up and had an awesome time. Mari and her family was brave enough to invite us to stay the night, which we did. Then, Mari's daughter and son offered to baby sit the boys so, us parents, could go to dinner. We did as such and had a great time! Bo and I haven't gone to dinner as a couple since our oldest was born, 4 years ago. So we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much Adkins Family!!! Today's post was given as a door prize at the party, in which the one who received it, loved it! I hope you like it too!

Beautiful Life Flower Art

Good Morning everyone,

Today's card was inspired by a swap I received from my demonstrator swap. I apologize but I'm not too sure who it was and now I can't find the sample. The flowers were made from the 5 petal punch with the centers cut out. Once I cut the centers out I then spritzed it with water and scrunched it up into the shape of the flower. Once I did that I spritzed it again with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, that's why you see a little shimmer on the flower. Hope you enjoyed it!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in a little while but I went on vacation with the family. We were supposed to go to Hawaii for 10 days but my poor mother-in-law had a heart attack. So our plans changed. We ended up going to Durango, Co, boy is it beautiful there!! My kids had a great time learning how to ski. I know we go from one extreme to another.

Today's post is another St Patrick's day posting. I have 2 examples today, I made the second one first but wasn't crazy about it. Then I made the first one and liked it better.

Elegant Lines Cupcake

Good morning everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in the last couple of days. My mother-in-law had a heart attack. It was kinda scary and not knowing how severe it was. She called me Friday morning telling me she thinks she is having a heart attack. She was smart to think about taking some asprin not knowing if that was really happening. Luckily, my nephew was house sitting at her neighbors house, so I told her I will have him go pick her up and take her to the hospital. Once they got to the hospital I was able to be there with her. The doctor said that her blood work looks okay, but her EKG's were inconsistent so they decided that she needed more testing. She was then air lifted to Albuquerque. By the time me and my family arrived in Albuquerque she was looked at and fixed. She did have a heart attack, one of her arteries was100% blocked. They cleared the blockage and inserted a stint, so she should be good. Of course, she needs to start watching what she eats but I thank God that we still have her. The sad thing is we have had to cancel our family vacation to Hawaii... But the great thing is, is that we can all go some other time and as many times as we want because my mother in law is still with us!!! This card is dedicated to her because it's like a new birthday for her and her heart.

Today's creation was inspired by a photo that my DH (Dedicated Husband) took a few years ago on our family ranch in Northern New Mexico. I have always loved this photo, I've loved it so much that I had it enlarged and framed then gave it to my DH for a present. So, I was trying to figure out how I could recreate it using stamps. Well, Stampin' Up has the perfect stamp set called Lovely As A Tree. It gives the illusion of the trees that I was looking for. I also wanted to enhance it by adding an Elk to the picture because our ranch is known for its Elk. But unfortunately, I could only find a deer stamp, Noble Deer (retired). After I created this card I gave it to my Nephew for his 16th Birthday. He loved it.

Ink: Early Espresso,Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard (retired), and Real Rust (retired)

Springtime Lillies

Good Morning all!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Today's post is to welcome springtime! Nothing does it better then lillies! I was surfing the net and came across Crafty Marias Stamping World where I watched the video on how to make these Lillies. I'm not too sure how this card would mail so I would assume that it should be hand delivered. Anyway, it was fun to make, I hope you enjoy!

Good Morning all!

Hope your weekend is going well! Today I decided to do a more masculine card. I'm always in need of ideas for manly cards because I am surrounded by men... my husband, my two boys, my nephew, my brother, my father...and the list goes on. So when I saw Plane and Simple stamp set I fell in love with it. This is a card that I've been thinking of making since I saw the stamp set. St. Patty's Day Slice of Life

Hello Stampers!

Today's posting is dedicated to my grandma... She always loved St. Patrick's Day! I guess it has to do with her heritage. I lost my grandma a couple years ago and I still miss her... I always will! She was so excited when she found out that my oldest son was born with red hair. Her father had the red hair so that's where my son got it. Well, part of it, the other part is from my husbands side of the family but we don't know where. Red hair is a recessive gene, so both parents have to have it in their gene pool. There's a little history about me and science.

Anyway, this was a fun card to make with all the hearts and bling. The coffee cups come from the Slice of Life Level 1 Hostess Stamp Set. I interpret the coffee cups as it being coffee with Irish Creme in it...Yum!! Hope you enjoy!

Just Believe

Good Morning Stampers of the Internet world!

I went to go take a picture of these two cards last night and I couldn't find my "good camera." I think my husband took it with him on his weekend venture. Yea, his weekend started Wednesday...must be nice, right? Anyway, I hope he is having a great time with the guys!

Since the "good camera" is missing in action, I ended up using my iphone camera, and these are the photos that I came up with. They came out okay, a little fuzzy but I think you'll get the point. I wanted to use the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder to show how fun it is. Here are two examples: the first one I used the Hostess Level 1 Afterthoughts stamp set and the Priceless stamp set. The second one I used Just Believe stamp set, but this time I decided to try the layered Framed Tulip, it was a little trying. But with help from Butternut Sage Designs I was able to do it. I hope you enjoy them!

A Little bit of Christmas in February

Good morning all! I decided to add a little bit of Christmas in February...as the title states. I am going to make it a point to do a few Christmas Cards throughout the year, so I don't have to rush during the Holiday season. I think I need to make a challenge to everyone... make 6 Christmas Cards every month including December so you will have a total of 72 cards. If you need more then that, challenge yourself to make 10, or whatever number it is that you need. Really...do it!

Stamp Set: Holiday Line Up and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Basic Black and Real Red Marker

Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Real Red, and Basic Black

Accessories: Basic Black grossgrain ribbon, Big Shot, Bird w/Leaves & Flowers Sizzix (retired) but you could use Swirls Scribbles Sizzix, Two-step Owl XL Punch, Word Window L Punch, and dew drop.

Technique: I took the ink pad and blotted it on the paper to create the texture on the Real Red and Very Vanilla.

Good morning to all! Today, I have decided to post my Stationary Box. Let me tell you, this was a big challenge for me. I have two little boys, 3 and 4 years old, so I had a lot of interruption with this one. So it took me almost a month to make. The box was no problem, it was coming up with ideas of what to put in it. I found the instruction on SCS of how to do this but it all depends on your designs of each card/item. Once I completed the box, I felt a sense of relief. I must say I love how it turned out. The unfortunate thing is that the DSP is no longer available. Sorry for the retired items, I didn't realize how much was retired until I started making the Box. I love these colors together, I had to do something with Nouveau Chic DSP.

WELCOME!!!! Today is my first day of Blogging. I am still underconstruction but I am excited to start posting my creations anyway. I look forward to meeting a lot of people that enjoy papercrafting as much as I do!!

I am a wife and a mother of 2 and 1/2 children. I say 2 and 1/2 because I have two little boys Austin,4, and Mason, 3. I also have my nephew, Clay, 16, living with us, so I'm kinda a mom to him too. Austin and Mason attend a local preschool and we are celebrating Valentines Day and this is what we made. The lovely elephant. I received an email from a friend that had a picture attached of something similar. So I took it and changed it up a bit. I hope you enjoy!
